It was a peculiar thing, this feeling inside her. It caused her to become confused and naïve which is something Genisys never was. Through her loner life, she had always been the one that knew what was going on. She could pick out tiny details from a mile away and her keen skills of observation were unbelievably heightened. And yet, here she was, struggling to merely focus without making a scene. It was strange to think that one she had merely met had this much of a hold on her and it sent a slight flurry of irritation through her. Not once, had she been owned, claimed, or used in any way and to be tied down by some brute from the border frustrated her. What was worse was that she was helpless against it and it was impossible to believe that this was a mere coincidence. The other thoughts raging through her mind involved him. Hell, everything she was thinking about was him and she had honestly forgotten about her brother for a minute. As she stared into those bright, blue pools, she wondered how he looked at her. She wondered if he thought she were beautiful, or pretty or hideous. Yet as she stared into those eyes she realized he was merely doing his job.
It took a lot for her to hide the hurt that swelled inside of her then. He had no idea what was going through her mind and she wasn’t going to be one that would simply blurt out her feelings. She barely knew him! It took everything for her to remain still with that stupid smile on her face as he averted his gaze and shook out his pelt. Great, now she had made him feel uncomfortable with her awkward staring. A small sigh began to slip from her pale kissers and she cut it short, lowering her gaze to her snow, white paws and trying her hardest not to frown. When he spoke about the pack, Genisys merely nodded, her silence becoming one she would never get used to. She was usually so talkative, so outgoing, but the crushing blow of his obliviousness to her feelings. Taking a deep breath, she raised her head and flashed him a smile again. She tried to get the smile to reach her eyes and she could only hope he didn’t see through her veil.
“Is there a scent you are recognizing?” Genisys blinked, having no idea that he was observing her that much. A small sliver of hope rushed through her but she stashed it away instantly. Curling her thick, white tassle around her slender pillars, she nodded. “I…” Should she tell him about her brother? There was no harm in it really. Her gaze flashed to the direction of her brother’s scent before turning back to his cobalt hues. He didn’t need to know the whole story but if he were to ask, she would tell him. “I believe that I smell the scent of my brother, but I cannot be entirely sure.” Her strong voice faltered slightly at the end of that as she blinked back tears. It was true that she wasn’t entirely sure and that there was a possibility of it just being a different male, one that she would not know. She almost sighed again but she was saved by his next words. At these, she perked up, nodding. His tone though, it was so professional. Just a soldier doing his duties. He would leave now that he had done his job and that was something Genisys didn’t want just yet.
“While I wait, I would love the pleasure of your company, Aindreas.” She was testing his name on her tongue and she liked how the word rolled on it, caressing it before flying into the air around her. The rain had stopped entirely and the sun’s rays were beginning to peek through the trees and rest on her pale back, warming her from the outside in. As if he had planned to do that already, the male sat before her, his strength falling to rest on his haunches. She was in awe of him really, his size, his strength and yet that small sense of compassion in those eyes that he seemed to carry around with all that. If only she could reach deeper and pull his other side out front, then she would get to truly know him. Her smile widened as he sat, revealing pearly canines that matched her pelt. His gaze flew to hers then flitted away, almost as if he were avoiding her gaze for some reason. Her brows furrowed in slight confusing before she shook her head, pulling her head back up and attempting to breath normally.
“What are you thinking about?” The words flew from her strong, yet gentle jaws and she regretted saying them. Then again, Genisys had never once been one to simply hold back her tongue and once she became more relaxed, more and more of her would come out. She wouldn’t hold her words. So, she was just going to roll with it. “I think that you have a lot on your mind, Aindreas. Then again, doesn’t everyone?” It was simple conversation really and she just wanted him to speak to her more, get to know her and maybe, over time, fall for her.
