The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

Zev felt quite weary as he drifted from the side of the cave wall towards the small open plain between the wall at his back to the one that certainly was located ahead of him. The fae’s scent was fading quickly, and it would be incredibly rude of him to just leave her and continue on with his journey; he shook, hoping to never meet a wolf that would ever do that in his day. “Miss? Miss?” His vocals echoed and bounced out of the cave walls, reflecting back to his auds like they were different lyrics shouted directly at him. He flicked his towers, trying to pick up any sound of the vixen in the underground lair. Of course, he didn’t hear anything, and totally understood. How could any wolf that did not talk much be heard when their vocal cords were not properly expressed each day? He continued forward until he met the other side of the cavern wall. He let the edge of his pelt flatten against the hard stone at his left, and soon came upon a hole still scenting like it had been broken; the brute almost fell into it himself before he steadied himself to look down.

Darkness was the only thing that could be seen from the brute’s point of view. He lifted his cranium and inhaled, trying to pick up the scent of the lass he barely knew. Her scent was stronger than it was up here, so he decided to head down there as fast as possible; he didn’t know if she was unconscious or even dead. He could barely make out a flight of stairs like the ones he was looking for, and jumped down each of them with ease, his long stride proving to be helpful in a time like this. He got to the bottom and ruffled out his coat. After the dust escaped his pelt, he stood up straight, trying to see through the darkness the fae that had fallen down into a deeper cave. “Miss?” He waited a couple seconds as his lyrics suffocated under the walls he could feel pressing down. “Athene. My name is Athene.” The brute spun around in surprise and saw the fae right in behind him. The vixen had indeed startled him with the unexpected words without rhyme right by his left aud. He suddenly realized he had a wave of adrenaline before he felt it vanish. He was surprised that her words did not hold any rhyme or beat of sorts; he could feel the anxiousness on her pelt after she said the words.

He saw her head dip down and tasted blood in the air; it wasn’t much, be he really hoped it wasn’t hers. Athene. Even her name held a sort of innocence that went along with her personality and hidden pride. It also held rhythm, proving that the creamy vixen was indeed a poetic sort of wolf. He smiled as she began to explain what had happened.

““While looking for the staircase hidden

I tread forward carefully and with due caution

But then a breeze drifted into my nares

One that was fresh and caused them to flare.

My step grew more confident which caused me to fall

Through the above hole in the wall.

Could the staircase dwell within this cavern,

Or to the previous one should we return?”

He listened to her speech as he recited what had happened in a clear rhyme that Zev found quite easy to understand. She had fallen from the hole into this deeper cavern and here she stood next to the giant brute, spick and span except for the tinge of blood in the air that Zev concluded was hers. He had to say something about it in order to prevent the regret he would soon feel. “Are you alright? Is that blood yours?” He flickered his ears as he waited for her response.

After she has finished he nodded briskly before returned his eyes back to the cavern. “Clearly there is something interesting in this cavern. The staircase right here proves it. Would you like to continue down this way?” He trotted down towards a tunnel entrance he had never seen. It looked quite interesting, and he could taste musky fresh air down the long hollowed cave. He looked back towards her, his icy gaze piercing the darkness.
