Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

How do you explain a wolf like Iblis? It is not an easy task. The lone wolf who walked alone in the night was a mystery, even to himself. Iblis saw himself as a warrior, a wolf of justice and honor who strived to protect those who could not protect themselves. He was the light that banished the darkness and the good that fought the evil. Many battles had been won and lost and many scars had been acquired, each with their own story. Iblis had a grizzled look about him thanks to his missing ear and scars on his face, but deep down he was a kind and gentle wolf. But, even he was not without his dark mistakes. Iblis was a wolf bred to fight, to defend and when those instincts came over him... sometimes he lost control. There have been wolves who were innocent who had suffered his fangs. It was for this reason, among many others, that Iblis choose to be a loner. He felt his place was with the free wolves of Moladion. Someone needed to protect those who couldn't do it themselves and Iblis was happy to offer his services.

The warrior didn't do it for glory. He didn't do it to win the heart of a fair lady. No, Iblis did it simply because no one else would. Because it was the right thing to do. It was this cause that kept him going forward. Even when he had been chased out of Moladion for his crimes to Iromar, Iblis lived on and returned with the spring to live amongst the loners. This evening, Iblis was on hunt. What he was looking for, not even he knew. But it had been almost a year since his paws had stepped foot in Moladion and much had changed. He needed to know who his old and new enemies were and what better way to do that then seeking them out and watching them in the shadows of the moon?

However, it seemed that the night was to stay calm and quite save for the few night crawlers. Satisfied there was no danger this night, he moved like a shadow towards a fallen long he had come across early that day. It would make a suitable place to rest his head for a few days and not for the first time his paws complained in protests to his endless wandering and begged for rest. Iblis was only happy to oblige, but it seemed that Fate would have other plans. As the wolf approached the fallen log the strong scent of wolverine poured from the tree and a deep growl echoed from within. Iblis knew that creature could cause him great harm and if it was a pregnant female, she would fight to the death. With a sigh, the loner accepted defeat easily and made his way back into the night.

"Rest might not come so easily this night," Iblis muttered to himself as he aimlessly walked through the night. It wasn't until there was a soft, blue light on over the eastern mountains that Iblis was forced to lie down in the open next to a rose bush. He had hoped that the strong floral smell would cancel out his own scent. Even though Iblis was dead tired, he still slept lightly and always with one eye open.
