At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

The brute felt the fae’s fur underneath his chin, startling him with the moment. She growled a thank you, and the brute nuzzled her back. He felt energy run through them as their fur touched each other. Was it real? Or was the titan just hoping it was? The vixen pulled away, and Zev felt a longing with her exit. Was it just him, for did she also feel the vibrations that he felt? The nuzzle seemed more as a thank you more than one for affection, even if he could have sworn he felt it. It would never leave his mind though, considering that he was indeed a male and it was very easy to fall for a female. He brushed the thought off and banished the words from his mind, not wanting to think about it any more. He asked if she had wanted to go to Staircase Falls with him, knowing their wounds should need cleaning. Athene didn’t say anything, but the brute thought he saw her nod, but he wouldn’t place a bet on it. The light started to seep through the cave, and soon, the cave opened fully.

The brute took a huge breath, the fresh air warming his lungs. He looked to Athene, favoring his back leg as he felt the sticky liquid caked on his paw. He sat onto the ground, looking to Athene as he still needed to know her answer. His icy gaze looked up at her, and she smiled before heading off in the direction he already knew was Staircase Falls. He stifled a laugh before heading after her; if that wasn’t a yes, he really didn’t know what was. His bid stride, even if limping, caught up with her since she was limping as well. He journeyed through the trees with her, half running down the hill since the limp required speed to stay under control. Within about ten minutes, the cascades were in sight. He limped down, Athene walking ahead of him. Most of her pelt was caked in blood leg like his back leg. She slipped into the water first, and he could see a shiver run up her spine and her wince. The blood washed away and he could see her pelt clearly now.

It was white with the occasional stripe that was a black contrast against her cream pelt. The blood slipped downstream before disappearing into nothing. The brute slipped into the deeper end, the shallow part only come up to his midleg. He flinched when each leg touched the water, and he clinched his teeth together. He sat down, letting the water lap at his wound. It was cold, and he relaxed. “You know a little about healing I hope?” He looked at her with his icy gaze and lifted his leg out of the water, his wound now cleaner from the water.
