Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

...So we grew together
Like to a double cherry, seeming parted,
But yet an union in partition,
Two lovely berries moulded on one stem...
~William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream

"Sister! Get up! You're missing this!" Radars flatten atop obsidian skull as the dark temptress stands at attention, her dual-toned gaze honed in on the Elk herd which is quickly scattering towards the forest. Their deep mahogany hides stand out against the snow backdrop, and even from this distance the young assassin can see them trickle between the trees.

Her doppelganger is curled beneath the lee of an old oak near the edge of the field, only her plush tassel flicking in response, her singular golden eye lazily peeking from beneath it's lid in a sly, cat-like fashion. Durga was quite aware of what her sister had said, but she was not yet willing to relinquish her afternoon nap.

"Oh, get Up already, you lazy bones!" Kali snapped as she whirled on her dozing sister and nipped at her rump insistantly. "You must see this!"

Durga let loose a yelp with the pinch of her twin's fangs, jumping to a seated position and shooting her reflection a scathing glare. "Alright! I'm up, I'm up!" She shakes the snow from her fur, given to part her jaws in an unceremonious yawn and then standing to stretch the sleep from her limbs before turning to slide up beside her sister. "What on Earth is it this time, Kali?"

Kali was ever the alert and observant of the two, in a constant state of training and discipline, honing her talents and skills for the time when it would come in handy... which was hardly ever these days. Durga was the more relaxed of the twins, her strength stemming from her quick wit and clever words, though she was no less prone to sparring and combat then her sister.

"Look there, do you see him? That wolf... it seems he would take on that herd of Elk himself!" Kali watched the russet male in the field, splitting the herd in twain as they fled in panic from the single individual. She gives a coarse laugh at his antics, knowing full well how absurd it was for a single wolf to take on a fully grown Elk.

"The Fool, he'll be trampled... or gored!" Durga said with a snort, her eyes widening as she takes in the scene. "Well, I doubt he's taking the chase that seriously... see there? He's fallen up shy. Really it looks as though he's having a bit of fun." Kali grinned, feeling the lethargy of the frigid season herself. "Mayhap we should join in his game... perhaps we'll end up with a meal out of the deal?"

Durga gave her sister an exasperated look. Of course she'd want to get in on the action! Kali was Always looking for some form of trouble to get into. Kali just slid her sister a wicked grin, offering up a devious wink as she lightly brushed her shoulder and took off across the field.

Durga grunted, but there was no help for it now, when Kali got on a tear she was practically unstoppable. On a sigh, she takes off after her twin, two black wraiths streaked in golden lightning.

As the pair draw closer, they find they are not the only wolves that have taken interest in the brute's fool-hardy hunt, already there is gathered another male and female... and the twins fall up short when they see the familiar face of their uncle, Heyel.

The two vixens pass one another a vexed expression. So very rarely do they see the old angel dog cavorting outside Diveen, much less taking an interest in a hunt. They saunter up close to where he stands, passing him rapacious smiles.

"Salutations, Uncle Heyel..." They greet him eerily in unison, their voices echoing off one another before breaking into a mischievous snicker. "Fancy a hunt with us today?"
