I probably shouldn’t be here, but I was desperate to get a little break, so I left the girls sleeping in the den, peaceful. They were growing up so fast, I felt as if the time was flying way too fast and I was loosing my babies before they were ready. Inessa was a little more attached to me, Laerah, well, it was hard to tell. I moved slowly towards the fields, my sleek white and red body moving agile, smoothly and gracefully. I had plans to hunt something before heading back to the den, knowing the girls would be hungry, and I was all they had right now, Rupture was missing, again. I didn’t know what to think about that, or what to think we were. Yes, I cared for him but I had no idea of how much, or if he cared either.
I came upon a gathering of wolves, and my galaxy-like eyes watched, before I looked into the water and saw the bull elk. I moved closer, not from hunger but curiosity There were no outward signs that would indicate that this group had taken the bull down. Which meant only one thing. Sickness. I frown, looking at those in the water. My motherly instincts kick in before I speak. “
Can’t you all see it’s sick!? Why else would it be dead without notice? It’ll get everything else sick if you aren’t careful.” I frown, looking at the others that had gathered, wondering what they were planning on doing, I prayed they wouldn’t want to eat any of it, because it would be a for sure disaster if they did.
