Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

I prick my ears as I catch the sound of the call coming from the woodlands. It sounds like a pack wolf from Taviora and I heard there would be a hunt soon. I've been waiting for the call. I've gone on a few hunts but so far none have been successful. Something always came up or too many wolves would get injured. I've learned a lot in the hunts I've taken part in but I'm always hungry for more. Hunting is a skill I feel will really help me once I start stalking killers and making them the prey. I learned a lot from Caster while he was in Taviora and while I'm sad to see my mentor leave, I have a feeling he's bound for greatness wherever he goes.

I move toward the call at a lope, not wanting to expend all my energy but not wanting to take my time either. I don't know much about the wolf calling but I have faith in her to lead us through a successful hunt. If father has faith in her then I will too. I trust my father's judgement, after all. When she comes into view, I can see her pacing through the fog. It's hard to see in this and I hope it clears up before the hunt begins. Sure, it'll help hide us from the prey but it'll also hide possible dangers from us too, like a sudden charging bull or something. I try to brush the worries away, giving her a short back that I'm on my way so she knows that she won't have to wait alone.

As I get close, I slow down and come to stop, lying down so that the long grass will hide my multi toned coat. My yellow green eyes gaze around, wondering what other wolves will be taking part in the hunt. I heard it was going to be mostly for younger wolves but I don't mind. They'll probably be more eager about it anyway. This might even be fun and I hope to keep learning so I can be the best at what I do. After all, if I'm not, that may just spell my death. I bow my head in greeting to the wolf, trying to stay mostly quiet now that I'm here so I don't scare anything off. Instead I let my ears flicker, waiting on the approach of others.
