Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Solitaire seems to be having a tough time with the seal pup at first. He gets up on his back legs, using his claws on the flubby pup. I can tell he's trying to leave as many wounds as possible, drawing blood every cahnce he can get to slow the pup down. That's when the bull seal interrupts and luckily Solitaire sees him in time to dodge to the side. I cringe inwardly as he hits the sand but at least there's cushion there. He actually manages to use the bull's attack against the pup, the tusk somehow managing to puncture the pup instead. It cries out and the bull seal bellows in anger at the trick. I would cheer my brother on but I'm trying to get the bull seal away from Solitaire, not wanting his blood on my conscious.

Solitaire jumps at the pup seal again, biting some more into it's blubber before he leaps away and comes toward the back end of the bull seal, trying to distract him away from me. When I see the bull swing around and get Solitaire with his tusk, I bark in worry, wanting to rush to his side but I know that wouldn't help any. Solitaire whimpers and dodges to the side and for a moment, I fear he'll leave the hunt. I'm considering calling it off at this point anyway. The bull seal doesn't seem to want to give up and the mother seal's on her way now. There's no way we can do this against three.

I distract the bull seal some more, leaving Solitaire to get away if he wants to but instead he rushes the pup again. He seems to get some more damage in before he jumps back at the bull seal, pulling on its tail as it charges me. When the pup seal tries to get away, Solitaire cuts it off. The pup seal is weaker and slower, I can tell, but we haven't got a fatal shot on it yet. It's almost frustrating. I can see it's losing a lot of blood. Solitaire goes for the face now and the pup cries out as he grabs hold. I see blood everywhere and the pup's head starts to droop. It's face looks absolutely mutilated by the time Solitaire is done with it.

The pup does manage to slam its head into his shoulder and I see him stumble with my heart in my throat. He gets back up, taking out his anger on the pup and more blood falls to the sand. I can see the finish line now, see the pup starting to choke on its own blood. He must have done a number to its nose and face. When I see my chance, I dodge the bull seal's tusks and dive in for the pup's throat, feeling the tang of blood gushing down my own throat as I drag it down to the ground. I eye the bull seal and mother warily, both of whom seem more hesitant now that they can smell all the blood and see the limp body. The bull seal bellows one more time, making a move as if to charge but pulls up short. A bluff then, his way of warning us to leave now.

Turning my gaze to solitaire, my eyes brighten with triumph before I grab onto some of the pup's blubber and start to pull, knowing it'll take both of us to drag the pup a safe enough distance away from the rest. We've won our prize and now we get to go enjoy it as long as we can get away from the angry eyes of the two adult seals.
