Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

I found you. Her voice whispered into the dirt.

She knew he was here. It did not matter if she could smell him, or if it was the call of being closer to her life-long friend, but she knew his paws had touched this soil. The realization hit her and it seemed to bring the life back into the pixi. Immediately her drooping ears perked, her half drawn tail went up and wagged, her tongue rolled out into a pleasant pant. He wasn’t close to her, or by her side, but she knew she could find him. That meant all was right with the world. Putting her nose back to the ground, she continued her quest, merrily bouncing with every step she took.

Chocolate and gold eyes looked out from sunkissed and fire sparked face as she searched and sniffed at everything she came across. It seemed like every step she took her tail wagged merrily as she padded down her path. The wind blew and the girl froze. Her nose lifted into the air and her sights set on a rabbit just off the path she had been following. Excitement boiled in her blood. Nothing else crossed her mind and she shot after the small creature, glee on her lips. The rabbit, terrified, darted away and into its hole, hiding safely from the wolf’s deadly claws and jaws.

Taika looked down at the hole the rodent escaped through. One again her demeanor fell into sadness. She sat with a thump and looked down at the hole.

”I just wanted to play.” She whispered to the rabbit, play bowing to its hide-out, trying to convince it to come out to her. Never would she have meant a new friend harm. After a moment of nothing but the wind stirring, Taika lost hope and leapt away. Instead she went dashing after the wind, pouncing this way and that. The breeze ripped the summer grass and she followed the spirits of the air that only she saw skating on the emerald blades. Her laughter flowed from her as freely as the sun gave light. Occasionally she jumped into the sky to snatch at a faerie who tried to fly away from her.

The comfort of knowing she would one day find her friend still lingered on her heart. But for now she played with the faeries and spirits that had always been realities of her imagination
