Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

A howl reaches high for the heavens from heather gray jowls. The winds of spring whip and lash at the thickened fur upon my chest as my neck extends straight into the air and my song finally dies out. Eyes of blue, indigo, and gold descend upon the terrain of Glorall as they soak in all that the waterside pack has to offer. From through the trees and across the river I can see the plateaus of Diveen rising above like red giants to protect all who reside within. Occasionally there is the minute figure of one patrolling the top of the high rises as they fade in and out of my view.

My eyes close for a moment as I stand entirely still, allowing myself to truly feel the breeze run through every strand of my coat, to hear the cries of the songbirds that nest in the trees, to smell the mix of fresh and salt water in the air that runs through the skies above me. It is all enrapturing in a way that I cannot explain and this place is everything that I had hoped it would be. Mother had spoken of her residence within a pack so similar to this, Judila, in the days before the earth had been reshaped. I can now see why she had remained – other than the obvious reason that my grandfather was the alpha.

Perhaps the terrain had been so much different in the days of my mother and yet there is still a magic to the way that this land can draw one in. I had called for someone to meet me here in hopes that I may work my way into its ranks and delve deeper into the territory. My life of solitude has finally ceased to exist thanks to the stories of old; I am finding my purpose in this life that I have been given.

My mind wanders to Exodus in these moments as my eyes open to the world around me once again. I had wished for him to join me in seeking a home within Glorall, yet I am unsure of how he exactly felt of the idea. There is the chance that he will come around but for now I will find my own place before bringing him in. The sound of another approaching had my brindled auds twisting and my head turning a moment thereafter as my eyes land upon the one who has heeded my call. ”Such a shame that Glorall is only known for its beaches when there is so much power in the way that the river cuts through the land,” I speak in a voice that is a near duplicate of my mother’s, strong and feminine.
