live life to the fullest

She was a wanderer, but she was tired of being lost. Her parents had loved her. They nurtured and cherished her, taught her wrong from right, and did all the right things. But she grew bored with their lifestyle. She explored all she could explore and she made friends. But it wasn't enough. It was never enough. When she became an adult, she told herself she wasn't going to settle for this life. She wanted more. And she was going to have to go out and get it. No more playing nice and following along. So she gave her parents her decision and they made their bitter sweet good bye's. Of course, her mom tried to convince her to stay, bt her mind was made up. At least her father knew her stubborn nature. Once she set her mind to something, that was it. So he wished her luck and let her know if she ever needed anything, her family would be waiting. Then she set out on her journey.

She had no idea where she was going. She didn't have a map of the area, so she just picked a direction and walked. For a while she was all alone. At night, she was terrified. Coyotes howled and mountain lions growled in the darkness. She had no protection and she was all too aware of it. Why didn't her parents warn her about this? Didn't they know she could die out here? But they weren't here to protect her now, so she kept moving. How long had it been since she'd slept more than a few fitful moments? She was tired and thirsty and near desperate for peace. And protection. She wanted to be protected again more than anything. To feel safe, at peace. Why did she take it all for granted when she had it? Why did she leave? Now she didn't even know her way home, and she wasn't sure she could make the journey, even if she wanted to.

So when she saw the field spread out before her, she couldn't help herself. She all but staggered out into the lush green, snorting and pawing before she lowered her head and took a mouthful. She shivered at the sweet taste. But of course, she had to be vigilant. Her ears flicked alertly. She refused to be a victim. She refused to die like that. She would enjoy this snack then she would continue on her journey to paradise, wherever that may be.
