and i knew your heart i couldn't win

She nods in appreciation at Dögun's statement. "Thank you. It's good to know I don't have to be afraid of being reprimanded for speaking my mind." She's been in that position before - being unable to say what she truly thinks because she would be disciplined.

His next words cause her to do a mental double-take, and she looks at him with blue eyes widened, an expression of shock on her face. "O-oh. I, um... that's not quite what I was getting at." But, she sees how he could have mistook her words as hinting towards choosing her. That was definitely her mistake. She turns away, feeling very embarassed. "I mean... I guess... but I'm not so confident in my ability to lead beside you. I mean, I've never had that experience before. I wouldn't want to mess up." She frowns, going from embarassed to confused. "Don't get me wrong. It would be an honor, certainly." A nervous chuckle comes from her lips as she turns back towards Dögun. "I guess what I'm saying is, if you feel I am suited for that roll, then I will gladly accept your offer and do my absolute best. But please know that if someone more experienced comes along, I will not be offended if you choose her."

She listens to him speak again, and nods, hiding the fact that she is a little embarassed by his last sentence. She quickly pushes her sheepishness away. She understands his words. Even though she ran for a different reason, they were both still running away from something that they did not want to face. And, for some reason, an unknown force brought them together. Freya isn't one to believe in gods and heavenly spirits, but she feels there is a reason behind their meeting. She is glad they have been brought together, and can only hope they will be blessed enough to stay together in the coming months and years.

It is only a matter of moments before they break through the tree line, coming to stand at the edge of a magnificent clearing. A large, crystal clear pond sits at the center of the meadow, the stream that feeds it providing a constant, gentle trickling sound that immediately puts her at ease. A wide, joyful smile breaks out on the golden mare's face, her blue eyes sparkling with wonder. "This is amazing." she says, a gentle sigh escaping her lips. "I am glad we met, Dögun. I am already proud to call this place my home."
