live life to the fullest

As she walked away from the water and further inland, she glanced back only once, giving the waters a soft snort. She would get over her fear this year; she was determined. She would learn how to swim and make it through the fear. She would help others. When she heard the hoof beats coming closer, she tensed up at first, fearing there may be some stragglers left over from the war. Her breathing elevated and she stepped closer to a tree, using its shadow as cover so she could peek around the corner and see who was coming. When her gaze caught onto the other mare, though, she flared her nostrils, tasting the scent of the Forest on her skin. The mare was a rich golden brown color with a stripe down her back. She wasn't much bigger than Creed herself and she didn't seem hostile. If anything, she looked like she'd been lost in her own thoughts and didn't know she'd come across another, not until her gaze caught Creed's own.

They stared at each other for a breathtaking moment before the mare approached with no hesitation and gave a soft call. Creed's ears pricked at the call, her skin shivering with hesitation before she stepped from behind the tree and gave a soft call in kind. Her eyes were wide but curious, her tail up. She felt flighty but wanted to trust the mare. The dun mare spoke then, introducing herself as Aponi and asking forgiveness before asking if she knew a stallion called Vercingetorix. The name in itself was a mouthful. Creed sadly shook her head, sympathy glowing in her dark eyes. Was she doomed to find horses missing someone precious? Roheryn was missing his sister and now this mare was missing someone she obviously cared about. Maybe Creed could help her as well? She wanted to do more.

"I'm afraid I don't. My name is Creed." There was something so defeated in her expression and Creed ached to do something to comfort her. She hated seeing anyone in pain.
