Religion does not offer a cure.
I've known many alcoholics that quit going to AA because they found religion only to get drunk again.
Not slamming religion, but AA only focuses in on sobriety.
And AA offers more than hope, if a person is willing to work the program, then they can stay sober for the rest of their lives, one day at a time.
Like I have said previously, I have over 40 years of sobriety and have attended many funerals of people that remained sober throughout their lives with MANY years of sobriety.
