The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

As the rain fell, Terrel began to move with increased fluency, quick steps one after another. His muscles flinched and tensed as the rain was produced in much more quantity. The colourful brute had noticed Mae accompanying him along – whom he sought happiness in, he now had a friend and one that was true. His eyes searched far and wide out for any symbols that he was getting closer to shelter but to no avail. Desperately he struggled to stop himself shaking his pelt over Mae as the rain dropped harder. He could prevent it no longer; the boy moved away partially and shook his coat – beads of liquid flung from the strands of his cloak. That’s better, Terrel thought with a keener sense of hope. He turned his muzzle in Mae’s direction, “I hope we will be getting somewhere soon.” Terrel said with a small chuckle and returned to his journey. He did not know where he was going; in fact he had no plan other than to seek out a shelter to share with his good friend Mae. So one brown paw step after the other he continued leading to the unknown and the curious… And finally there it was – a shelter; a cavern.

Without even taking a second glance at the eerie cave, Terrel lunged in with his paws spread up right in front of him. Shaking his pelt the beads of rain threw themselves onto the dusty carpet. After his entrance, he took his time to appreciate the scenery of the terrain he had found himself in. His brow creased in a momentary confusion, it was dark although light still penetrated the shadows and tossed them away. And he knew that his optics would soon adjust to the ever lingering darkening. Terrel attempted to plot his routes but he saw nothing to plan on. “Have you been here before?” He asked curiously although he had guessed the answer already. It seemed not a place that Mae would visit – though he could not predict it right always.
This was had a dark presence – or so he felt. Darkness crept and lingered over creaks in the walls and the gentle, drip, drip, drip of the water running to the ground. It was creepy. And he did not like it. It was defiantly weird but he said nothing – not wishing to dent his pride in anyway. Gulping he turned to Mae and mumbled (trying to sound as confident as possible.) “It’s a bit creepy here, isn’t it?” Terrel turned his head, his ears flickering to pick up any response she might have made.

His strong supporters carefully made their way into the compelling cavern, once said to be forbidden, once said to hold a beast and that it was never killed, still could linger in the cavern. Although Terrel did not have faith in those fairy tales he felt a large weight of foreboding and fear creeping slowly into his imagination… He said nothing. No one said anything. The world was silent. It was too silent.

Terrel flinched as a drop of water dampened his pelt. What was it? That was one question that briefly flickered through his mind. He looked up into a gap which the sun struggled through, light reflected on his soft brown eyes. Light; there was still a chance of escape. No. He had to go on. His dignity was being prodded at; he needed to leave before it pierced. Terrel did not speak. He did not know what to say, or when for that matter. It was weird here and any words repeated themselves in a chorus of echoes.
The cavern seemed to widen out a bit and at first it appeared there were routes to take but on closer inspection, Terrel could see a narrow tunnel in the wall but he decided to stop for a small rest. “So, what do you think of this place?” Terrel enquired with a curious posture. His ears swerved to meet her lyrics. He settled down politely on his haunches and his tail thumped gently against the rocks. His brown optics surveyed the area… It seemed dry enough and certainly dryer than the colder wind spreading the bitter rain into the faces of creatures.
He sighed and looked to Mae.
