aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Test My Will, Test My Heart

Adara knew that she shouldn’t be so shocked about her brother’s actions, but she was. They were so close, yet sometimes they could be the exact opposite in some situations. She knew that the past with their mother and her old lover was painful to think about, but surely he couldn’t stay so bitter forever. She hoped that after some time of them talking things out would help him to calm down before their mother met up with them, wherever she was. The silver fae could tell that her brother was upset, she just wished there was something she could do to help him. She knew she upset him when she talked about how she was somewhat excited to meet their father for the first time, but she still wished that he could find some sort of relief when they met him.

Rohan spoke to her, explaining to her why he was so angry about the situation as he snorted at her words, snarling as he began to speak, “Yeah, sure. And you don’t have to mention that, yes, mom was the one who left him but he didn’t have the mind to chase her down and help her. He only took one of us! One Adara. Our brother, I mean how you not pick up the other two when you pick up one! I have had to take care of you and mom for years now and I love you two! But it angers me that he didn’t think how that would affect me! I never had a pup hood; no I was an adult from an early age. I was forced to grow up pretty quick so I could help mom with you and eventually become the ‘brute of the den’ per say. My loyalty will always be with you and mother but I don’t know how to trust anyone else.” Sadness filled Adara’s heart when she heard her dear brother’s words. She knew he had truth to his words. Their father had been there for one of the three pups that their mother had birthed, but there was still something telling Adara that she could not blame her father. The femme didn’t know what truly happened between her mother and father, and she didn’t want to blame either of them for the situation that Adara and Rohan were in at the moment. Still it made her sad to think of everything Rohan had been forced to do for herself and their mother. She never wished for him to have to be ‘brute of the den’ as he called it, but that’s how it had been since they were pups. She had always been more carefree and easy going than him, and she wished that she could help lessen his unhappiness somehow.

Before Adara had a chance to respond to Rohan and try to bring him some comfort the scent of another wolf entered her nares, she had completely forgotten that they had stopped at the border of a pack when they had begun their conversation. She had no idea what this pack and its wolves were like, they could have stumbled upon a vicious and dangerous pack. Adara wasn’t even sure why Rohan had come to this pack, did he know that this was the pack where they would find their father? The femme had just gone to her brother’s call without thinking about where they were. She looked over towards the trees as she watched a large silver titan walk towards them with his tail held high. His icy gaze met hers and then she realized that her eyes held the same iciness as his. She had never seen any other wolves besides her brother and mother had a gaze like that, and it shocked her. She was also surprised to see the likeness that she had to this brute, her silvery pelt holding the same markings as his. He spoke to them as he approached, “Hello. I am Kalgalath, the Alpha of the Aurora Borealis pack and of these lands. Speak both of your names and what your business is with my pack.” Upon hearing that he was an alpha Adara knew that he demanded respect, but she was not about to bow down to a brute unless she wished to enter his pack. The silver femme did however lower her tail and ears respectfully towards him as she spoke, “Hello Kalgalath. My name is Adara and this is my brother, Rohan. Do we have business with his pack brother?” She addressed her last question to her brother, not sure how to respond to the blue eyed alpha. She realized how much she really did rely on him as she spoke her last words to him instead of being able to answer the alpha herself.
