Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

He definitely hadn't dozed off, so when the other wolf approached he was totally not taken by surprise. His darker ears flicked forward and his crimson eyes blinked open quickly at the sound of the voice, and he grunted in mild surprise. It was slightly embarrassing as he hadn't really meant to be caught off guard by anyone, he knew that he was fairly close to a pack and it probably wasn't the brightest idea to take a nap. Renegade rose to a sit, his maw opening in a yawn and then snapping shut again. He tilted his head curiously at the wolf who had woken him up, and even in his slightly drowsy state something was decidedly very familiar about the brute in front of him.

Renegade straightened up, his crimson eyes meeting the other's strange white eyes. One could say that they were unsettling, but the tri-colored brute simply found them intriguing, for it wasn't long ago that he had seen similar eyes. He remembered the reason that he was here, to find that curious spy he had been sweet on, but he didn't even really know the real her. Or perhaps she wasn't a her after all.

He couldn't be sure, after all it wasn't terribly odd for one wolf to have the same eyes of another, but he hadn't seen another with pure white eyes like Never and also the male standing before him. Renegade cleared his throat, flashing the other male a toothy grin. "I was hopin' to come across someone, actually, but it's a bit borin' jus' waitin' around." he said with a small tilt of his head. Perhaps he would test the waters a little bit and see if he could get this one to tell him if he was truly the one Renegade was seeking.

"Maybe y' know her? Called 'erself Never, but that wasn't her real name." His crimson eyes remained on the other with an unreadable expression, though the question was innocent enough. "Reason I ask is 'cus she had eyes jus' like yours." Renegade's expression didn't falter, but he studied the other carefully to see if his statement would invoke any sort of response. If he really was a spy, perhaps he would have mastered the art of a poker face, but Renegade was pretty good at reading faces, a skill that had served him well in his past life.

He wasn't sure what to think of the fact that the girl he had been looking for could actually quite possibly be a male, and the thought tugged at the memories he had hidden in the far back of his brain, and he didn't feel it necessary to dig them up... ever. They could stay at the back of his mind forever for all he cared. Renegade didn't want to deal with them, or maybe he couldn't, but either way he was just going to ignore them until they hopefully went away for good. There was no reason to live in the past, thinking about the things that he couldn't change.
