At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

~I hope you smile when you look down on me~

A warm sensation covered her neck as the brute chuckled gently through her fur. His words reached her orbs but her conscious, or lack thereof did not register the words being spoken about her. She had the dim sensation of being dragged up shore, the sand mingling with her wet ash laden fur. The motion stopped as soon as her bodice began to shudder. She was in early stages of shock, but the addition of her nightmares only increased the convulsions.

A gentle compression somewhat soothed the tremors, and made the memory a bit fuzzier than usual. But as soon as the compression left her side the dream was clear as day. Sebring saw her father’s piercing eyes glaring through her while her mother’s final cry echoed in her eardrums. But it all faded into a smokey haze like the rest as she fell into a deep slumber. Black tendrils reached into depths of her mind searching and pulling forth her entire life. The tendrils paraded Sebring’s faults and failures right before her eyes and she whimpered quietly willing it to stop. She just wanted it to stop, she wanted to feel the soft, warm pressure against her again. Instead a cold, wet object dropped near her mouth startling the fea in her dreams, but she was quickly soothed by the warm body pressed into her back.

The fishy scent awoke the hunger deep within her belly. The grumbling stomach awoke the girl, but her body couldn’t move as fast as her hunger was pushing her to. She tenderly pushed her ivories into the scales and took a small bite. The precious red liquid leaked from the piece in her mouth and further stained the dull steel fur with a crimson hue. She swallowed weakly but she got the meat down. She licked the fish trying to get what little water she could off of its flesh. Her tongue was still swollen from dehydration but the cool droplets soothed the swollen muscle in her mouth allowing her to more easily bite into the fish. But she became aware of the gentle breathing and warm body beside her, causing an instinctual fear to take over, but this pressure was the same embrace that had released her from her tremors and nightmarish dreams. The ashen ess turned her head so she could see who had released her from her personal Hell.

The dark, mottled fur rose and fell with each breath but whoever it was, was still awake. Sebring’s golden ambers looked into the icy blue portals that belonged to the body beside her. Her eyes pulled away quickly and looked down at the ground, “Th-thank you..” she mumbled and stuttered over her words, her thick tongue preventing her from getting much out. Sebring remembered the fish laying close by and attempted to nudge it towards a middle ground between her and the brute. She nodded weakly to it, her tongue allowed no more words but she hoped he would understand that she wanted to share it, though it never registered in her mind that he had brought her the fish himself. Her yellow ambers shifted to his icy blue gaze, but instead of fear filling her, she felt a sort of comfort in his presence. A feeling she couldn’t express, but she could only name as safety.

"They’re only baby scars," She whispers.
