Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He never thought to look at her while he was replacing the feather in his fur. He didn't really think about the importance it would be to her that he had kept it this long. He only knew that it meant a great deal to him to have it on him, something to remember her by, even if it was just an old hawk's feather that he had PILFERED from a den four years ago. She called his bluff when he said he would take her title of master crab hunter. He knew that he hadn't really had a chance to practice in a while but he had pride and he wasn't about to let her know that! Instead, he lifted his head high and nudged past her to romp down the beaches, looking for signs. He wanted to ignore the electric hum of his skin when he rubbed against her, not wanting to think of such things when he needed to be focusing. Instead, he just enjoyed the run, especially when she didn't want to leave him alone the whole time.

He laughed as he felt her paw swiping at him, slowing down just enough to make her think she was keeping up with him good while doing it just because he liked to know that she still wanted to be playful with him after all this time. It would have really sucked if he'd come back only to have her being awkward around him or not remembering him at all. Instead he tried to brush her face with his tail as he swished it behind him while running and tried to cut in front of her to kick up sand toward her, laughing the whole time. He'd even look back over his shoulder with a twinkle in his eyes before looking back ahead. When he found what he'd been looking for, she stopped and took a seat but he could see the gleam in her eyes and he knew what it meant. He chuckled under his breath, rolling his eyes as he started to dig. Over time, he forgot that she was even watching. He was too caught up in what he was doing. He was so excited when the crab stuck its pincer through the sand that he didn't even stop to think that there should be another one there somewhere.

Instead he pounced and bit the pincer, pulling it out. He was too caught up in his victory to notice the crab getting angry and defending itself by grasping his upper lip with its other pincer. Man, that hurt! He didn't remember it hurting that badly before. He yelped and started bouncing around, swinging the crab from his lip as he even completely forgot to keep holding the other pincer. He looked to Inanna for help but instead she merely watched for a moment or two first. It felt like hours to him. He felt his eyes watering from the sting of the pincer and he could taste his own blood. He was licking at his lip and whimpering when he'd feel the crab pinch down harder. Was it ever going to let go? Suddenly Inanna was against him, trying to push him down. He had to fight the urge to struggle, deciding that she must want to help after all so he practically threw himself to the sand, whimpering the whole time as he looked up at her helplessly.

He tried his best to hold still when she told him to, his eyes merely watching her as she bit the crab. He held his breath without meaning to, as if he thought for a moment that she might actually bite him. But of course she was only going for the crab! He heard the squishing sound that could only be its shell and his butt started wiggling as his tail thumped the ground. She'd killed it, yay! The moment it died, he felt its pincer release his lip and he let out his breath in relief only to have the crub flung aside as she pounced over top of it and held her own head high. He slowly rolled to his stomach, rolling his eyes and huffing a sigh.

"YEAH, YEAH, BE ALL PROUD OF YOURSELF FOR NOW, INANNA. I'LL GET YOU BACK SOME DAY, DON'T YOU WORRY."

Only then did he let his expression soften and he gave her a teasing wink as he stood up and trotted over to her.

"BUT SERIOUSLY, THANKS. I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO EAT ME OR SOMETHING."

His eyes widened at the thought before he suddenly started shaking out his fur, sending sand spraying at her. He laughed to himself at the thought of getting sand all over her before he gleefully snatched the crab up in his jaws from under her and started dancing around in a wide circle, his tail wagging as he dared her to chase him for it. But it seemed she had already gotten side tracked, looking toward the waves before she barked at him and took off into the water. Thor only hesitated a moment before he spit the crab to the side and took off after her, his brows narrowed in determination to beat her in everything else. If she was going to out-master him at crab hunting then he'd just have to get better at everything else! He glanced down, watching the minnows and fish swim by. He was too distracted and looked up only to be slapped in the face by a wave. He toppled over and got back up coughing and sputtering, his nose wrinkled at the salty taste going down his throat before he looked over at Inanna and wagged his tail.

"I BET YOU CAN'T FISH BETTER THAN ME."

He gave her the challenge with a wolfish grin, his eyes twinkling with mischief. He then pretended to look for fish, walking around in slow circles and when he saw she was looking for fish too, he'd then pounce right toward her, trying to splash her or take her under the water for a dip.
