Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He didn't really expect anyone else to be out this way. This part of the beach was pretty off the radar as far as foot traffic goes and since most of the pack wolves had stuff to do, none of them bothered him even if they did see him sitting here playing with a seagull or talking to a jellyfish. It seemed his luck was starting to run out though. He heard another wolf coming but that was the third one in the past two hours so he didn't think much of it. They would probably mosey on by just like the last two did without saying a word. Almost like he didn't exist. Sometimes Triton wondered if he was really a ghost put here just to be tormented, but his parents reminded him every day that he was actually here and they could see him, along with everyone else. He wasn't quite so sure he believed them some days but it seemed today was going to prove it.

The sudden voice ringing out behind him got his attention. He yelped and jumped in the air, spinning around as he landed to prick his ears attentively toward the older female who was talking. Apparently she was talking to him. His ears flicked back uncertainly but his tail gave a swish of greeting. He took in her strange markings with open curiosity, his eyes widening as he looked her over from head to tail. But then he reminded himself that she'd asked him a question. Oh, she was talking to him! His tail cracked up a notch in wagging as his ears swung toward her again, eyes lighting up as he gave her a big ol' grin. But he had to clear his throat first. "You scared me half to death there ma'am! Miss?" His eyes crinkled as he tried to think of which title to use. But then he shrugged and continued talking.

"No, you're not dull at all! In fact, you're quite the opposite." Then he realized that he was trying to say she was pretty and he felt his skin flush. Good thing his fur covered it up but even so his grin turned sheepish as he ducked his head a little. He glanced back at the jellyfish then back at her, trying to figure out how best to say what he was trying to say. Talking to them was just so much easier! "I just don't see a lot of wolves who aren't busy, is all. The sea creatures are never busy. At least, they don't seem like it. Are you busy?" His tail wagged a little more, almost coaxingly as his eyes brightened even more.
