Everyone wants to lead an extraordinary life Posted on July 28, 2025 at 01:45:29 PM by Augustus
The laughter of his twin daughters fill the silence. Those two were something, but sometimes their laughter did not bring him joy. Sometimes it reminds him of their mother and how excited she had been to have them. Her sudden dissapearence didn't make sense. He knew something bad had happened to her, but no one has found any trace of her since. It was as if she had been a ghost. He would have believed that too if it wasn't for their beautiful twin daughters she left behind.
A sigh passes through his lips as he watches his children play. They were growing up so fast. The stories they asked about their mother were becoming more scarce as he realizes they were growing up. It was mostly Athena who always asked about her, but Artemis seemed to be just as interested. Artemis, the first born of the girls, never talks much. It was hard for her and at first he thought it had just been because she was so young. Now that she was over a year old he knew she would always be this way.
His eyes lift to the distance where he spots a young mare by herself. He doesn't know her personally, but he has seen her around the Inlet with another mare and a stallion. All three were newer members to the Inlet. It was good to see how well his father was doing growing the herd. Everyone appeared happy too. His eyes fall back to hid girls until he hears the small thud into he distance. He wasn't really paying the mare much attention until she ran right into that tree.
"Stay here girls. I'll be back just keep playing." He says to the twins as he picks up a trot towards the mare who has now ran into another object. His gait slows as he gets close, seeing her head now resting against the tree. He was about to ask if she was okay when suddenly her voice threatens him. His ears lay back slightly as he studies her for a moment. "I'm afraid I can't do that in good conscience," He finally says. Something was wrong and he didn't feel right leaving her like this.
