Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

The russet wolf had been keeping out of the limelight in these new lands, which was wholly unusual for him, and quite frankly he was a little personally disturbed by it. Perhaps the events that had brought him to this lands had shaken that spirit out of him, but he didn't want to believe that. After all, his personality was in his name, Renegade. He wouldn't go long without causing some sort of trouble and it was really only a matter of time. Or so he hoped. He dreaded to think that he lost his drive, whether that was a good or bad thing remained to be seen. Certainly a good thing for the residents of Moladion. Renegade was currently exploring further west than he had been, though he took care to skirt around the packs that made their home here. Despite his self-titled "best thief in the western desert" he wasn't too keen on stirring up trouble in the west here.

However there was something else that drew him towards the west, though he would be hard pressed to admit it. That curious girl, Never she had called herself, though he knew that the name was simply a pseudonym. He had seen through her disguise easier than most, perhaps, and something underneath the scent of charcoal and pine smelled like these western marshy lands. He hung around the riverbank, hoping that she may pass by here eventually, and he would see her again. Not knowing her name or even what she looked like without all those charcoal markings made it a bit hard to track her down, so he would have to rely a lot more on luck.

Renegade sat down next to the river, his dark ears pricked forward as he tried to pick sounds other than the sound of the river. It was a calming sound, though, and soon he found himself a bit more relaxed than he might have cared to be. After all he was here to look for somebody, not to relax in the cool spring air. Though the latter did sound pretty nice. His tail gave a few absent-minded waves, he figured he may as well relax just a little bit. After all who knew how long it would take for Never to cross paths with him? The day could go by and he may not even catch scent of her. Renegade yawned, his sharp teeth flashing in the spring sunlight.

It wouldn't hurt to lie down for just a little bit. The air was cool and the sun was warm, the grass was soft and the noise from the river was like a lullaby. And so he settled down in the grass on the riverbank, laying his head on his paws. A foolish move, perhaps, but Renegade wasn't exactly the wisest wolf around.
