She had never seen true affection between two others. Her mother and her father, well, they had fought more than loved one another. And then she had been taken, and they didn’t fight to get her back, thus, her nasty outlook on love, mates, and the whole trust scenario. She wasn’t about to give her heart to anyone, though, her body was a different story. Just because she was pregnant with the man’s pups didn’t mean he had any of her respect, trust, or her heart. He didn’t have any sort of claim on her and she was damned if she was going to live her life how he told her to. She had never listened well to orders, nor rules. She was bound to screw up along the way in her new life, but she had to try, right?

Her eyes, split of gold and grey, flicked to study the black one’s features. She had smelled him in Asteraia, and it didn’t make sense to her why he was going back and forth from one pack to another. Unless he was that indecisive. Or, that peculiar about where he made his home. She had no reason to be snarky, or snide to him. He was unknown to her, and that made her a little more at ease, and maybe it was the hormones causing her to act nicer, who knows.

He spoke, and she watched him carefully. Her small stature causing her to feel minuscule against his larger size. She knew she should get used to it, as almost all those she’s run into lately were much, much larger than herself. But that didn’t mean that she had to like it. She had to tilt her head upwards slightly to look him in the face. “Nice to meet you too, Iscariot. As for Asteraia, it’s new to me, the whole pack situation. I’m still unsure how I feel about it all myself really.” Because to be honest, she hadn’t spoken one-on-one with Jaidah yet. And that was kind of sad.
