Re(1): Lead, follow, or Get out of the Way

Looks like one of my close and personal tormentors is working on his impressions again. Remnids me of the old timers at AA meetings. They're the only ones who go for years and years telling the same stories and holding on right for fear praying doesn't cure their illness, if they ever really had it.

The rest of the room addicts get bored and wander off, or die off of chronic liver disease, or find the modern solution not found in the 1934 Big Book.

Dry drunks still act as mental as they did when they were self medicating but they don't smell of vodka.

They don't mind active drinkers because with those, the crying and whimpering makes them feel better about themselves even tho they're still dutifully required to call themselves drunks in front of the group.

What pisses em off is if you come back in after a period of time after being gone, they figure you relapsed and needed them again. What they hate is when you tell em you just stopped by to suggest they quit struggling and just get your doctor to write your a script for Naltrexone, little pills that kill the cravings within a day, making it easy to break the habit, ANY habit within about 2 weeks. Even overeating, gambling, and narc pills. THey don't wanna hear that becuse thats not enough of a struggle like they had to go through. Coming in there saying you can quit without weekly embarrassing convesions and reciting the Serenity prayer is just too easy!

So ya leave, reamizing why you hated AA all that time, but they're still going to meetings and counting the days since their last drinks, and you're not.

What does this have to do with radio? Nothing, but it was a good read, huh?

There just aren't mny good radio stories told in here, but over on the TV board, some great insults of anchors and wxmen. If ya like looking and funny memes and cartoons, try Twitter. Lots of people over there and many are either smart, famous, or clever!
