Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He chuckled, watching her dance around like they truly were pups again. It felt good to be around her again. It made him feel young and alive. He had missed her something fierce. He could have taken the feather out of his fur a long time ago. It never really served a purpose but it had become sentimental in value to him. Every time he felt the stem of the feather stick into his skin, it triggered a memory of Inanna. He grew to like those memories and so he left the feather in his fur. He knew a lot had probably changed for both of them in the time they were separated but he wanted to make things right now. He wanted to know what she had been up to. He wanted to know what dreams and aspirations she had now. He wanted to catch up on all that she had been up to since the last time he saw her. Inanna was a friend he had never wanted to lose in the first place. Now he just wanted to regain that familiarty they had together so long ago. He wanted his best friend back.

Her face was all lit up and her eyes danced like fireworks. She looked beautiful dancing in the sand of the beach and Thor found himself easily mesmerized. When he brought up the crab, she looked over toward it with a chuckle and told him he could have it or hunt down another one. At her challenge, his own eyes lit up and he gave her a wolfish grin, his tail wagging.

"MY SKILLS HAVE ONLY SHARPENED WITH TIME, DEAR INANNA. I CHALLENGE YOUR RANK OF MASTER CRAB HUNTER."

He gave her a teasing wink and went to go with her but she hesitated when he said that he had something for her. He wanted to let her know that she was never far from his thoughts, even in the time they didn't see each other. When he pulled the feather from his fur, he saw her eyes widen in surprise. He knew she must have caught on that it was gone. She had a meticulous way of keeping track of everything in her hideaway caverns so she must have known it was gone. Did she know somehow that he had taken it? It wouldn't surprise him in the slightest. She always was a sharp one. He was trying to read the turmoil of emotions on her face. She looked almost touched but in the next moment, she just looked satisfied, like she had known it all along and it felt good to have her theory proven correct. She was quiet for a good time though and Thor shifted his weight, wondering if she was going to say anything at all.

Finally she told him to keep it with a grin and his own face lit up. He would have been reluctant to part with the feather after having it so long. It had become an integral part of him that he didn't want to let go.

"DON'T MIND IF I DO."

He slowly reached out to take the feather gently in his teeth. He handled it like it was a fragile piece of glass or shell. It meant a lot to him. He turned his head back, slowly tangling it back in his fur so that it would stay when he moved. Only when he was satisfied with it's placement did he look back at her. He chuckled when she said that she knew he was up to something, giving her only a wink in answer. Of course he was up to something. When wasn't he? At her next questions, he took a bold step toward her, not stopping until their noses were just millimeters from touching. His gaze was piercing as he looked into her eyes for a minute as if trying to read her before his lips tugged into a sly smirk.

"WELL FIRST...I'M GOING TO STEAL YOUR TITLE, CRAB MASTER. AFTER THAT...WELL, WE'LL JUST SEE WHAT I GET MY PAWS ON NEXT."

He snickered teasingly before brushing past her, rubbing his scent along her as he took off for the beaches where the crabs would be. He would never admit that touching her was all he really wanted in that moment so instead he used it as a playful antic to get to where he wanted but at the same time, he was enjoying the scent of her on his coat now as he ran. He looked back over his shoulder to make sure she was coming too. After all, she'd have to score him on his kill to make sure he did it correctly. How else would he win her title? When he met her gaze, he gave another heart stopping grin, his tail still wagging. Only when he saw an area of sand sending up water bubbles did he slow down. He stalked over to the area of sand, daring to give Inanna a "shhh" in a low voice like it was imperative that she not make a noise. Of course he was over-dramatizing everything just to make the experience that much less forgettable for her.

Suddenly he pounced on the sand and started digging.

"I KNOW YOU'RE THERE CRABBY. COME OUT, COME OUT."

He challenged while he dug with determination. Finally a pair of pincers burst through the sand and he let out an "AH HA!" of exclamation, even jumping in the air in both shock at the sudden sight and excitement that he actually found one. He knew he probably looked silly to Inanna but he was having the time of his life. He looked over at her, giving her a wide eager grin before he lunged down quickly, grasping one of the pincers in his mouth as he jerked upward to bring the crab up in his mouth. Of course, what he hadn't counted on was the other pincer, which now reached out to pinch down on his upper lip. His eyes widened in that first second of shock and then pain as he looked over at Inanna in an uh-oh kind of way.

"OOOOWWWWW! GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!"

He started jumping and dancing around, shaking his head and trying to dislodge the pincers which only pinched down harder, even drawing a little blood. He whimpered, making a complete fool of himself. He was both embarassed and shocked that such a small thing can cause so much pain. Why was she just standing there? He needed help!
