The sounds ricocheted in my mind, birds chirping, the little squeaks of chipmunks, or were they squirrels? I had no clue, nor was in really interested in finding out what they were, what I cared about most was they were irritating and they needed to go away. But then again, it was fairly easy to aggravate me these days. The growl started low in my chest, coming out a snarl that quickly quieted the area that I was walking through. There, that is much better. I stretched my neck out, leaning down to nip at the bramble that was stuck in the long soft length of fur. I huffed as I moved, my lithe frame moving easily through the brush, little legs stepping over the branches, ducking beneath the fallen logs that I was coming across. There was a bit of snow on the ground in the woods, not enough for me to really care really.

But I spied the open fields before me, the trees thinning out before me the land ahead was covered in snow, and it made me a little happy. It had always been my favorite season as a little girl, but recent events had changed that. I moved slowly, coming out into the open before I watched the darkened femme stalk the large elk. I felt the hunger pains begin to rumble in my stomach. I followed them. My curiosity peaked when I watched the bull elk fall into the water, and I assumed I wasn’t the only one as the other girl had gone in the water. I moved along the waters edge, my head tilted to the side as I moved closer, not as close as the other girl, but close enough for my liking.
