Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

I don't know how to explain to Solitaire what's going on between Viora and myself. That would just lead to stories of mother and what happened to her and that's just one big complicated mess. I'm just glad Solitaire looks like he wants to stay for good. This makes me glad. When I offer a hunt, he looks happy enough and he stays right on my heels as I venture out toward the beach. He listens carefully as I explain about the big sea lions with tusks and the tiny one we're going to try to take down. Of course, that's saying the big one with tusks won't try to run us down once it figures out what we're doing.

I give it time to sink in, letting Solitaire watch the seals for a minute. Solitaire crouches down low, grinning at me and telling me he's game as he waits. I grin back, trying to be confident but this is something new for me. Of course I'm not going to admit that to my own brother. He needs to know I'm comfortable here. I look back at the sea lions and exhale, getting up my courage as I sneak around the rocks, using them for cover as I circle around to the other side. Once I'm in position, I pick a spot between the mother sea lion and her pup and then I charge in, barking. The mother sea lion charges into the water and dives in, barking for her pup but I block its path, barking and snarling, hoping to send it directly into Solitaire's path as it looks for escape.

Meanwhile the male sea lion is grunting in anger, watching us with black beady eyes. It may just be a matter of time before it gets involved.
