Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He wondered what Inanna would be like now, how she had changed from the gangly pup that he met in this very den and made into a friend. There were rocks and shells and other things, some he remembered from when he was here before but many things were new, or maybe just something he never took notice of before. A conch shell caught his attention and he moved in closer, noding it around until he flipped it over. It had a small chip on one of the edges but otherwise it was flawless. He bet it was pretty important to her. He started to look around some more and found neat rocks and old crab shells, lots of stuff other wolves might call trash but Inanna saw them as treasure. He always liked that about her. She could see the beauty in anything. He wondered vaguely if she had moved on. He could smell her scent faintly around the pack lands but not strong around any den to say it was where she called home. Maybe she moved around a lot? He hoped to find out soon.

His head snapped up when suddenly a fresh scent caught in his nostrils and it was growing stronger. His tail gave a gentle swish as he turned toward the entrance of the den and waited. The first sound he took in was not her voice though, but her growl. He recalled it from when she was a pup and thought he was going to steal something. It seems she didn't lose her protective streak over her little collections. He walked to the outside of the den so he could better see her, his eyes widening at the sight that met his gaze. She was a beauty and it was hard to think she was the same girl that he used to hunt and play with. She had changed so much in four years and he felt the guilt wash over him anew that he wasn't there to watch her grow and mature. He would have liked to do it together, then maybe he wouldn't feel like the fool now. Not to mention it seemed he was the fool that she didn't even remember.

He almost laughed out loud when he saw the crab drop from her jaws. It was like deja vu, since he had been calling out for a crab hunter and here she is having just caught one. He was betting she was a lot better at it now that they could do more than jump on its shell from behind and hope not to get pinched by its pincers. Her lips had curled back and she was only picking up speed as she raced at him. He knew that he could have dodged but somehow he didn't want to. So instead he braced himself. She hit him like a metal wall and he gave out a grunt as he went down, letting her straddle him. By the time he was able to look up at her, he could see recognition finally dawning on her face. She had just had time to process his voice, it would seem. His lips tugged into a wolfish grin. When she said his name, he chuckled.

"IN THE FLESH. I GUESS IT'S TOO EARLY TO ASK FOR A BITE OF THAT DELICIOUS CRAB YOU JUST DROPPED IN THE DIRT, RIGHT?"

He was glad to see she at least had a good memory of him, her tail wagging now as she jumped back and went into a playbow. He rolled to his feet and shook the sand from his coat, barking playfully at her as he leaped to the side and playbowed as well, his tail wagging. He didn't care how immature they looked. It was too fun. His green eyes sparkled with mischief.

"NOT AS MUCH AS I'VE MISSED YOU. IN FACT, I BELIEVE THIS BELONGS TO YOU."

Wagging his eyebrows at her, he slowly reached around to pull a feather from his coat just behind his shoulder where he had tangled it. He was sure she had remembered the hawk feather that used to have its own little perch in her stash right next to one of her neat shells.

"GUESS YOU WERE RIGHT WHEN YOU LABELED ME A THIEF. I JUST WANTED SOMETHING TO REMEMBER YOU UNTIL I CAME BACK."
