Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Solitaire doesn't seem to want to continue the conversation about Viora for which I am thankful. Did he catch onto the look in my eyes? It is family drama so I guess he'll have to find out soon enough but hopefully not today. When I tell him that I'll earn his trust, I see the tightness in his jaws and I tilt my head, wondering if I said something wrong. But then he nods and says okay and I smile in reassurance.

Things get a little easier when I mention the rabbit and all the emotional awkwardness seems to fade away into the background. I chuckle with him and then it hits me. Why don't we just hunt? I could use some food and I bet he's traveled a long way since his last meal too. Working in sync with family, I can't think of a better way to spend my first day with my brother. He seems to agree, telling me to lead the way and I wag my tail and prick my ears, nodding in acknowledgement before I turn and start trotting toward the beach. I call out over my shoulder.

"There are these big slippery things I've been watching for weeks. There are some small ones now, pups, I'm guessing and I bet we could catch one of those as long as we do it before they reach the water. I tried chasing one before and those things are FAST in the water. The only thing to watch for is the really big ones with the tusks for teeth. I bet they could really gore you if they hit you with that."

Once the sand squishes beneath my paws, i slow down and find some dry bushes to hide behind so I can gesture with my head toward the water's edge. There's a whole group of the big things. I think I've heard them called seals before. Or was it sea lions? I'm not quite sure. Not important, I guess. I nudge my head toward the far end of the beach where a mother and pup are sunbathing. Well, the mother is sunbathing while the pup explores the beach, nosing around sea shells and rocks. I glance at Solitaire, my voice a whisper.

"Think we can herd that one out and take him down? I'll understand if you want to do something easier."

I smirk, my eyes twinkling playfully.
