Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

It doesn't take long for him to realize that maybe he should have come back sooner. That he might have been welcomed back, even if only from Tristan, and that could be enough. To have one sibling there, one piece of family that wasn't going to just turn away or stand there.. The past seemed blurry to him, but he did remember the look on his mother's face. She'd seemed hopeful that Solitaire would be able to come back, to stay.. but Solitaire had gone because he wasn't let in. He couldn't return, and so he had left. There was nothing else here for him without family. They never followed him... or maybe he never gave enough clues. Perhaps he had simply gone too far.

Whatever had happened, Solitaire could push it aside now. There was no use dwelling on the past, because it was no longer here. It could still hurt him in ways, sure. But as long as Tristan wasn't pushing him away because he'd been gone; Solitaire could figure out his life and try to stick around and finally have a chance to know his brother more. Learn about the life the male had led here while Soli was gone, wandering off and trying not to get noticed. He felt social, though. The pull had always caused an ache within him, because he didn't want to be alone. He did not feel as if he was meant to be alone for very long. Still, there were reservations on being around others. It was hard to shake.

He knows that reaction, the way that Tristan looks away before speaking of their sister. Solitaire understands it means something bad. Like when one of the lowers went missing and to ask the vagabonds only gained that answer, that looking away because there was no easy answer. His story could have ended in one of those looks, but he had gotten away. The look meant that something was lost. Considering that Solitaire wasn't sure if they would all be lost to him when he came back, he couldn't complain. He could be sad in his own way that he might not see his sister, that she might not come back or even want to have anything to do with him. Sad, but not hurt in the same ways as he had been as a youngster.

So he nods to what Tristan has said of Viora and lets it go at that. He has enough right here if it's all he can have. He thinks of mother, wants to ask, but the blaring lack of her in Tristan's words doesn't bode well. It wasn't time yet to ask; things were much too fragile within Solitaire's mind. He wasn't ready to know. There was enough hurt as it was. Overwhelming was the feeling that came over Solitaire when Tristan spoke again; he had his brother, and his brother wasn't going anywhere. Was going to earn his trust and not lose him again. All of that made Solitaire's jaw tense; he was trying not to be emotional, but his eyes said enough. "Okay." It was all he could muster without breaking down.

So much was coming at him all at one time, and it was much more difficult to be around others than he had thought. The first time really holding much of a conversation, and to top it off it was with his brother. That was emotional enough as it was, but to Solitaire who had very little contact with others? It was a lot to take in. The rabbit is a icebreaker in the way that it loosens him up enough to chuckle, to put aside the fact that his mind isn't quite ready for the onslaught. When Tristan joins in, it's even better. Soothing, even. No hesitation come after Tristan asks if they wanted to hunt (after the amusing admittance of the rabbit ordeal). "Yeah. Lead the way." Bonding activities? Solitaire was all for that.
