Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

When I first look at the wolf, I can't get a good look, between the brightness of the sun after being in the dark water and all the coughing that forces my eyes closed. But once that's calming down and I can get a good look, I wouldn't be able to say this wolf is anyone else but my long lost brother. Of course I have so many questions. Where has he been all this time? Why did he leave? I bet he's learned so much in his travels. I was only gone about a year and a half. He was gone for multiple years. I bet he has so many stories! Maybe I can get him to tell me sometime.

He seems happy to know I know him, wagging his tail so much that his whole body seems to move. I'm glad to know not everyone in our family is a wet rag like Viora. He tells me that it's him and I give him a big grin, ears pricking forward. He tells me that he plans to stay this time and I couldn't have heard better news if I had told it myself. Brothers back together again! We can be a team! At least I'll finally have someone besides a sister that blames me for our mother's death. I know that'll come up eventually too and I'm prepared to tell him the story though it'll be a sad one. He admits that Viora doesn't know he's back yet and I shrug, looking away.

"She might not even come back around here after the change in alphas. She was pretty loyal to Tesseract."

He says he hopes he can stick around and that something happened and he crumbled. I scowl, my brows furrowing in concern. What happened to make him leave? He makes it sound so lonely to be cut off like that and I guess I know a little bit of what he's saying now. Without mother, I have no allies in blood, at least not till now. Viora is my blood, my family, but she continues to hate me. My eyes narrow in determination and I straighten up.

"Well you've got me and I'm not going anywhere. I'll earn your trust if I have to, Sol. I don't want to lose you again."

I give him a smile, wagging my tail. When I look to see my prize and find out it's a rabbit, I feel disappointed but when I glance back, Solitaire only looks amused. He even chuckles and after a few moments, I can't help but join him, chuckling myself.

"Fine, so I jumped in to save a dead rabbit and almost got myself killed in the process, so sue me. Hey, Sol, want to go hunt something?"

My eyes light up at the idea of doing something, anything with someone who actually likes me, who understands me. True, we may have a lot of years of distance between us but I'm willing to work all the kinks out as soon as possible. We're family and we're all we've got left.
