Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

The river is slowly sapping me of my energy but still I fight, knowing that to go under for longer than a minute is sure death. And still I clutch the wet fur of whatever was in the water, fighting just as much to keep it in my mouth as I am to stay above the water. The current pulls me under time and again, water pushign down my throat with every breath but still I struggle, knowing that if I let go, I will never be able to reach the..whatever it is, again. My legs feel like jello but just as I'm about to give up on the object in my jaws, I feel someone clasp around my own scruff.

My eyes widen as I'm suddenly being pulled from the river. I only release the thing in my mouth once I'm safely on shore, the coughing and hacking that suddenly controls my body all I can think about. I lie on my side, spitting up water for the longest time before I'm able to take in breaths in gasps, finally turning my eyes on my rescuer.

"Th-thank you."

I manage to sputter between hacks but as my blue eyes travel over the course of his frame, something familiar flickers in my eyes, my nostrils flaring as I inhale his scent that reminds me so much of someone else.... I blink a few times, the coughs and hacks increasing in volume as it clicks and I have to regain my braeth before I can find my feet and face the wolf, my tail wagging behind me even as my eyes water from not being able to breathe properly.

"S-Solitaire? Is it really you?"

I try to grin at him, still coughing a few times before I'm able to go forward and nudge his shoulder with my nose. As I back up, I take him in. He's grown into quite the soldier himself. Somewhere in the back part of my mind, I can only think how proud Viora would be to know they're related but it has a bitter taste in my mouth after knowing how she still feels about me.

"You've grown. I can't believe it. You're here."

My eyes light up as I swipe at them with my paws, embarrassed by the water still dripping from them from all the coughing and hacking. My tail still wags fiercely and I have to resist the urge to hug him, afraid he might be too manly for that.

"Did you just get back? Are you here to stay? Does Viora know you're here?"

Even her name comes off my tongue in a bitter way but none the less, I'm sure she'd want to know. Maybe she'll hate me less if she knows she has a brother who can actually fight. Only then do I remember what I fought so hard to keep a hold of. My lips part in an "Oh!" as I turn to the furry object on the ground. I nose at it but it doesn't move. Turning it over, I see that it was a rabbit and my ears flick back.

"All that for a rabbit?"

The disappointment is clear in my voice as my sholders slouch and my tail lowers.
